So.ci.al Boo.kmar.king

I found social bookmarking the most interesting module of this whole web 2.0 thing, which comes as no surprise because I knew they would save the best for last.

Admittedly I only looked at Library Thing, cause I didn't have much time, and I found it to be pretty cool. You create your own virtual bookcase by adding books you own, or want to read. This has real usefulness in Libraries as clients can keep track of which books they have read and can share others with their friends if they have any.

Mmmhmm yessir, if you ask me, this 'Library Thing' could really take off....except they should make ones for DVDs. I just checked and turns out Library Thing does it. Well haven't they just thought of everything?

Feed for Thought

RSS Feeds y'all. This is a useful thing to use cause it consolidates the news I like to receive in one easy to look at place. My Blogline.

Now instead of going to the courier mail site or Fox Sports to see which team will beat the hell out of the Roosters this week, it simply scrolls into my Blogline thingy. AWESOME

In a work context, for libraries that is, RSS feeds can be used to find out what's going on at all libraries in Brisbane in one easy place! No more going around to 5+ websites or scrounging through countless emails to find information regarding a topic. Simply search for it in your feed.

Awww yyyeeahhhhhhhh!

Networking Socially

Facespace, mybook, they're all the same. Wanna instantly know what people you don't talk to anymore (yet too afraid to deny their friend request cause you might see them at an actual function one day and they'll ask why you didn't accept their request) are up to? Well thanks to online social networking...now you can!! :-)

Jokes aside, there are some pretty useful uses for these sites. Catching up with old friends you DO want to see. Sharing information like music, writing ideas or just havin' a good ole' chat with a friend. You can alert people about what you wanna do, what ya gunna do and where you're gunna do it.

Keeping in touch as never been so e-e-easy.
